QIAT Grows Up

Introduction

You are invited to participate and share your expertise in an effort to design and compile the first generation of quality indicators for post secondary environments based on the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology model developed for K-12 public education.

The public education Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT) is a grass roots effort that has been on-going for 10+ years and started by a group of people interested in the field of assistive technology. This group developed a set of quality indicators that would ensure that Individualized Education Teams have a rubric or matrix to assess their efforts in meeting the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requirements and providing effective and efficient assistive technology devices and services to students with disabilities. This effort has grown and fosters on-line collaboration and training internationally with over 1000 members through list serve activities, and collaborations at conferences and summits and discussions via other on-line mechanisms.

Thank you for your contribution in this important endeavor.

The Great Lakes ADA Center, DBTAC; Southwest ADA Center, DBTAC; Adirondack AccessAbility, Inc., and the Technology and Curriculum Access Center at Easter Seals Arkansas continue the collaboration for extending quality indicators for post secondary environments during 2009!

I created two new pages, for Evaluation and Transition, and input the indicators. There seems to be a spacing issue with the sidebar, and I also was not able to change the links to the original QIAT work at the tops of the pages as I could not get those links to work on the QIAT site. It's a start though.
